Each and every personal computer or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program which interacts with the hardware, including peripherals such as a mouse or a printer, along with any applications that are currently installed on your system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a web server, each app runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, and so on. This is valid for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software such as a media server. In case a virtual server is created on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, named guest OS and host OS, so you will be able to set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS

Our virtual private server packages feature three Linux distributions that you could select from for the Operating System of your new hosting server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. Aside from being totally free, the OSs are extremely stable and safe and the reason to offer you all 3 of them is to make sure that you will be able to run every application that you would like, since different pieces of software could have different requirements with regards to the environment they can be used on. Each one of the three OSs is backed by a huge community of developers who have generated thousands of software packages that you can install and use on your VPS. Based on the Operating System which you choose, you will also be able to select between 3 different Control Panels to control your hosting content. Needless to say, in case you decide that you need a different OS, we could always reinstall the server with it. As an optional upgrade, we also provide weekly updates of the Operating System for max stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Hosting

In case you decide to buy one of our dedicated servers, you shall find three Operating Systems on the registration page as we want to give you a broader choice for the system environment on the machine as different applications may have certain requirements. CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian contain different modules developed by their vast support communities, so you can select any of these OSs and take advantage of a stable and risk-free Internet hosting service. Based on your decision, you will also have different Control Panels to choose from. Of course, we can always change the Operating System if the one you have selected at first does not meet the requirements of the software that you would like to run. We can also update your OS routinely to keep it as risk-free as possible using our Managed Services upgrade package.
